    JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSScheduled Weekly Hours: 36Work Shift: 11a - 11pSummary of the Job: Responsible and accountable for a group of patients during a designated time frame and to provide care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care team members.

    Supervises the activities of Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Assistants, Monitor Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistance, Nurse Technicians, unit clerks and Paramedic technicians.


    Minimum Qualifications:
    Successfully completed Board Certified Nursing Program.
    Current LA RN licensure.

    Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications (ALS/PALS within 6 months of hire) through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to:
    Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check off.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    One year of acute Emergency Department experience preferred


    Physical Demands:
    Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 20 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.


    Physical Effort required:

    Constant (67%-100%) - seeingFrequently (34%-66%) - lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling/feeling, talking, hearingOccasionally (1%-33%) - climbing (stairs, ladders, etc.)
