    We are looking for a Radiology Technician to join our team and work directly with patients to perform radiologic imaging procedures.

    This position will play a vital role in helping Doctors, and other healthcare professionals diagnose and treat patients in our facility.

    Job descriptionIf hired as a X-Ray Technician you will perform radiographic exams, bone density and fluoroscopy. The X-Ray Tech is responsible for diagnostic imaging in radiography, and works independently in performing these modalities.

    You will collaborate with radiologists, providers, and other staff to trouble shoot any problems while providing an improved patient care environment that will lead to an efficient flow and experience.

    The X-Ray Tech will need to apply previous computer experience to new applications for imaging and record keeping. Essential Functions

    • Radiography. Performs diagnostic x-ray examinations including spine, extremities, head chest, and abdomen. Follows standard positions and views prescribed by radiologists. Assists radiologist with fluoroscopic procedures. Performs bone density tests. Receives patients, explains procedures, and utilizes standardized techniques, settings, and positions to accomplish acceptable results.
    • Office Duties.
    Performs office jobs in a small department including, but not limited to:
    answering phones, scheduling patients' exams, printing reports, retrieving charts, researching problems, ordering supplies, and helping radiologists and providers.

    • Responsible for QA and QC for NPVMC imaging modalities

    Documents:

    patient exposure time to radiation, amount of contrast administered, exam performed, and other information as required by the Joint Commission regulations.

    ResponsibilitiesPosition patients and equipment to capture the correct area and produce clear imagesPrepare and educate patients about the imaging procedureMaintain patients' records during and after proceduresMonitor patients and ensure their safety during imaging proceduresCalibrate the equipment to provide clear, usable imagesLog and organize image results, develop film and assist with the interpretation of the radiograph resultsConsult with Radiologists to determine if other images need to be takenEnsure the proper sterilization and storage of the equipmentMaintain radiographic equipment, and report any equipment failuresRequirements and skillsProven work experience as a Radiology Technician or similar roleExcellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skillsGood analytical and problem-solving skillsThe ability to operate and understand radiographic technology and equipmentThe physical stamina to stand for long periods and operate heavy machinery without assistanceAn associate's or bachelor's degree in radiography is preferred or work related experience will be also be considered if the right candidate is chosenCredentialsAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certified
