    BASIC FUNCTION

    Serves as a key leadership team member and a key participant in the growth strategy of the organization.

    Responsible for overseeing ACOS's membership-related activities to include recruitment, retention, development and implementation of member benefits and services all designed to promote membership growth and outstanding member experience.

    The Director serves as the primary liaison to multiple ACOS committees and sections to include Membership, Mentorship, IDEA (DEI), and Ceremonial committees.

    Serves as the staff liaison to the ACOS Medical Students Section (ACOS-MSS) and the Residents Section Council.

    Conducts the Annual Ceremonial Conclave program. Provides staff support for the American Osteopathic College of Proctology (AOCPr).

    CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Advises the organization on member association best practices. Works with the membership committee to propose new and improve upon existing membership requirements, benefits, and services.

    Responsible for the processing, review, and approval of membership applications. Prepares Membership Committee meeting agendas, minutes, membership statistics, and committee reports and recommendations in cooperation with the committee chair.
    Plans, implements, and evaluates membership recruitment and retention programs. Responsible for dues billings, discipline dues billing, and maintenance of accurate membership records and data.

    Administers the Fellow and Distinguished Fellow designation application process and assists the membership committee to compile, evaluate, and approve candidate applications.

    Updates the Fellow and Distinguished Fellow requirements and policies, as required.
    Develops annual budgets and dues forecasting.

    Develops budgets to fund the projects and activities of the Membership Committee, Mentorship Committee, Ceremonial Committee, and IDEA (DEI) Committee.

    Monitors the variances between budget and actual expenses and revenues and recommends appropriate action for any significant variances.
    Responsible for the development and production of the Membership Information Guide, the D.O.

    Advantage brochure, the FACOS Activities Rating Guide and application, the DFACOS Activities Rating Guide and application, membership applications, and promotional flyers and materials.

    Provides staff support for the Ceremonial Committee to plan, implement, and evaluate the annual Ceremonial Conclave Ceremony including the induction program for new members, new Fellows, and new Distinguished Fellows.

    Manages the membership records, annual dues billing and statistics reporting for the American Osteopathic College of Proctology (AOCPr).

    Assists the Chief Executive Officer in planning, implementing, and evaluating focus groups and membership surveys and reporting the findings to the Board of Governors, the Membership Committee, and the Strategic Planning Committee.

    Responsible for the marketing of ACOS membership, and College programs, services, and benefits at the Annual Clinical Assembly.
    Responsible for the revisions to policies and procedures manuals as required.
    Develops articles for publication in the ACOS News as assigned.
    Other duties as assigned.

    Reports to – Chief Executive Officer
    Direct report – Manager of Membership Services

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    A minimum of 8 years' demonstrated experience in membership association environment and experience in a healthcare association would be a plus.

    Five or more years in a director or senior-level administrative management role.
    Bachelor's degree.
    Self-starter and self-motivated leader; effective problem-solver who approaches challenges with a solution-oriented and creative perspective.
    Highly detail-oriented with a commitment to high standards in all aspects.
    Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, encompassing both oral and written communication, and an engaging presentation style. Analytical skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
    Strong marketing, organizational, and workflow management skills are essential.
    Experience utilizing and managing an association management software platform.
    Supervisory and project management experience, as well as experience working with contractors and vendors.

    Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), relational database, project management, content management systems, learning management systems, and communication and marketing automation tools.


    OTHER DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Certified Association Executive (CAE)
    Relevant certifications in technology systems
    IMIS membership platform experience
