    Description

    SUMMARY:


    Under the direction of the Director of Support Services, the Emergency Preparedness Specialist is responsible for developing, promoting, implementing, and maintaining Porter Medical Center's Emergency Operations Plan including both internal and external event responses.

    The Specialist is responsible for all four phases of emergency management:
    mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.


    QUALIFICATIONS:
    Degree and/or certificate in Emergency Management or Significant progress toward degree/certificate program in Emergency Management or other relevant field.

    Three to Five years' experience in a relevant field of emergency services required. Valid Driver's License required.

    Ability to plan, organize and collaborate with others. Knowledge of disaster preparedness and response programs with emphasis on bioterrorism, chemical and nuclear events preferred.

    Certified in the Incident Command System (ICS 100, 200, 300 and the National Incident Management System (NIMS, IS 800).

    Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
