    Overview

    This position will lead the efforts for Schematic design and PS&E for highway projects for the Transportation division in the geographic area.

    Responsibilities

    What can you expect on a daily basis?

  • Lead project teams and efforts in the accomplishment project/task assignments related to schematic design and PS&E for highway projects
  • Provide guidance and direction to project design team for various tasks within the scope of a project, which may include training and supervising project team
  • Lead multi-discipline support consultant teams in project development and design
  • Participate in the development of innovative design techniques, support tools, and project delivery methods
  • Present new ideas and techniques to clients and stakeholders
  • Support efforts in proposal development, project scoping as well as with client relationship development
  • Attend design review meetings and interact with clients with support staff
  • Providing leadership in these daily activities, among others, will continue the Pape-Dawson vision of becoming the most respected engineering firm in Texas.

    Qualifications

    What qualifications are needed and key to this role?

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
  • Licensed Professional Engineer ( in the state of Texas
  • 10 years' multi-discipline experience in schematic design and PS&E, with at least 5 years' managing projects from conception to completion; preferably in the DFW market
  • Ability to technically and professionally mentor members of project team
  • Exceptional ability to develop and maintain professional relationships
  • Working knowledge MicroStation, GeoPak, MS Excel and scheduling
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of employees in an organization
  • Must be able to work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed to meet project deadlines
