    Job DescriptionSalary: $26-$29 per hour

    POSITION TITLE: Intake Specialist – Afghan Support and Investment Program (ASIP)

    DEPARTMENT: Refugee Services

    REPORTS TO: ASIP Supervisor

    SALARY RANGE $ $ 29.00 per hour DOE

    WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Some off-hour work (early morning, evening, weekend).

    FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

    POSITION SUMMARY: Entry-level position; delivers housing-related services to qualified applicants and reviews complex and error-prone applications at the agency's Afghan Support and Investment Program services. The Intake Specialist will be the first team member to interact with the new participant, so it is essential that you are welcoming and supportive.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. Include the following but are not limited to:

    • Informs Afghan clients about requirements related to applying for housing and gives information pertinent to service delivery.
    • Answers telephone inquiries pursuant to program procedures.
    • Assists clients with completing intake forms.
    • Ensures clients obtain all required documentation for their file before referring to a Case Specialist.
    • Record and maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
    • Creates new files and completes all information on forms and reports
    • Organizes and archives records and documents
    • Uploads digital files and performs data entry
    • Secures and protects the privacy of documents
    • Ensures completion of ASIP applications before sending to Supervisor for approval.
    • Creates FRQs for monthly rental assistance payments.
    • Coordinate with the AP department regarding landlord/vendor documentation.
    • Assists in application close-out and client exit letters/surveys.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, plus two to three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • At least two years of experience working with refugees, immigrants, and/or other migrants to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services preferred.
    • Knowledge of the resources and providers (governmental, civic, social, health, educational, economic, faith-based, etc.) that are available within the community/county to assist migrant families.
    • Possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and high standards of quality.
    • Knowledge and familiarity with the culture and community of immigrant/refugee population(s).
    • Ability to use electronic case management database/software with the facility.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
    • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
    • Have a cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with clients and co-workers. Ability to work closely with other employees to ensure a positive, constructive environment within the program or department, and throughout the agency.
    • Possess passion and enthusiasm for the Mission and Values of CCDSD
    • Bilingual in English and Dari and/or Pashto is a plus.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

    • Valid California Driver's License and current automobile insurance in compliance with Agency requirements.
    • Must successfully complete a DOJ/FBI live scan.
    • Tuberculin Skin Test
    • CPR/First Aid Certification (desired)
