    POSITION SUMMARY:



    Fabricates parts to specifications from sketches, mark-ups and drawings, in direct support of Production and Engineering to ensure that Production goals and customer requirements are satisfied.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



    Fabricates parts from drawings, sketches, or mark-ups
    Maintains machine tools and equipment
    Requisitions tools, equipment and material through Supervisor
    Trains and monitors personnel in the use and safety of machine tools and equipment
    Handles long and short machining jobs
    Maintains high level of quality
    Works directly with Engineers on prototyping
    Follows and enforces all safety rules and regulations
    Operates manual and CNC equipment
    Plans and executes work orders for production parts

    Wear proper personal protective equipment as necessary including but not limited to: eye and hearing protection, safety shoes, lab coats, gloves, dust masks and respirators.

    Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
    Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS



    Experience/Background:

    5+ years of machinist experience
    5+ years of CNC equipment experience
    Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
    This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a U.S. person or protected individual within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines U.S. persons and protected individuals as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), U.S. Temporary Resident, Political Asylee or Refugee

    Skills:

    Must have thorough knowledge of operation and function of vertical mills, engine lathes, grinders, jigs, fixtures and tool grinding and CNC lathes and tooling
    Requires attention to detail and accuracy
    Ability to operate the manual and CNC equipment
    Working knowledge of ERP systems as it pertains to work orders, inventory & labor keeping
    Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and web-browser
    Ability to manage time and prioritize responsibilities
    Able to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion
    Must be highly motivated, self-starter and work as a team player
    Must have high levels of attention to detail and quality, be able to multitask and stay organized
    Must demonstrate the ability to act professionally
    Must be able to occasionally move about in production areas as needed
    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
    Mechanical aptitude and good math skills

    Education:

    High School Diploma or equivalent
    CNC certification preferred

    ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



    Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements:

    Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment.

    Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities:
    stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb.

    May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
