    Description

    Position Summary:
    Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, storage yard, or field Storage. Keep records and compile stock reports.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.
    • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or field storages.
    • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
    • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
    • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
    • Clean and maintain warehouse storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
    • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
    • Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
    • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
    • Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
    • Performs other related duties as required.

    Educational and Other Requirements:

    • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Minimum one to two years work related skill, knowledge, hands on experience or vocational training preferred.
    • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
    • Sensitive to confidential information.
    • Must work independently and as a member of team.

    Mental and Physical Requirements:

    • Able to read, speak and write English.
    • Strong physical and mental health to maintain demanding workload.
    • Able to work under stressful conditions at times.
    • Climbing - able to go up and down stairs.
    • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
    • Position will consistently dictate hours per week with frequent overtime demands based on the workload requirements.
    • Position will require some (6) six day weeks when workload demands, with time off scheduled per current workload and other staff availability.
    • Strong work ethics of integrity and honesty strives for excellence in all activities employing accompanying communication.
    • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
    • Inspecting materials from deliveries to detect any damaged parts upon delivery.
    • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
    • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
    • Resolving conflicts and other minor problems.
    • Dependable, reliable, fulfills responsibilities.
