    Summary



    This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.



    Duties


    A full-time position for a Pain Clinic Physician is available for the Pain Clinic under the Physical Medicine Rehabilitation Service (PM&Rs) at the Columbia VA Health Care System (CAVHCS) in Columbia, South Carolina.

    Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

    This physician will work in the pain clinic alongside a multidisciplinary team of pain management staff within the Pain Clinic Section. Duties include but are not limited to:

    • Developing and implementing treatment recommendations for a wide range of pain syndrome diagnoses through interventional procedures, behavioral health and bio psycho-social aspects of chronic pain management
    • Review/Perform outpatient pain management consults and follow-ups.
    • Provide patient education, evaluations, and treatment services for the Outpatient Interdisciplinary Pain Program (OIPP).
    • Perform core and specialized interventional pain management procedures under fluoroscopic guidance. .
    • Confers with and serves as a consultant to other clinicians.
    • Restore maximum function lost through injury, illness or disabling conditions.
    • Provide various levels of care such as evaluating medical histories, completing physical exams, orders, analyzing appropriate tests and laboratory exams. ?Prescribe rehabilitation and whole health services.
    • Provide counseling to patients and families.
    • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, coordinating care with other medical and mental health care providers.
    • Work with the multidisciplinary team which includes, but is not limited to Interventional Pain Management Physicians, Pain clinic Providers, Pain Psychologists, Pharmacists, Physical Therapists, and Registered Nurses.
    • Collaborate care with midlevel providers (nurse practitioner/Physician assistant) and provide oversight of training residents/students with participation in the education program
    Work Schedule: Monday -Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 p.m. Subject to change based on Agency Needs.
