- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must meet or exceed the medical requirements of the State of Indiana
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must be able to follow instructions and take directions.
- Must have a current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Monitor and assist students during transport.
- Assist students with book bags and other items.
- Secure lap belt and/or other assistive device for students.
- Keep aisles clear.
- Assist driver with wheelchair lift.
- Secure tie downs for wheelchair.
- Know the route directions to assist a substitute driver.
- Attend training in service and all mandatory meetings.
- Assist with proper loading and unloading of students to assure their safety.
- Assist driver as needed or instructed.
- Respect confidentiality of all students.
- Development and maintenance of professional and effective relations between the transportation Department, driver, student, parents
