    SUMMARY

    The Behavior Health Technician-ABA ("BHT-ABA") is fully supported by the Behavior Consultant and/or the ABA Services Manager in providing services using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to clients with autism. The BHT-ABA delivers treatments, designed by the Behavior Consultant, with the goal of increasing socially meaningful behavior and increasing independence. With ongoing on-site and off-site supervision, the BHT-ABA carries out the written plan for clients in the home, community, or classroom settings and collects and reports data using electronic platforms. The BHT-ABA is also responsible for appropriately arranging the environment for the delivery of necessary treatment and fostering relationships with team members.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Implements all assigned client plans and programs across home, school, and community environments.
    • Fulfills sessions as scheduled.
    • Provides support to clients through Activities of Daily Living (e.g. self-care routines and chores) and skill-building activities.
    • Collects and enters data and completes high-quality service logs with relevant information pertaining to client behavior, goals, and prescribed programming.
    • Provides coaching to all team members in a supportive and collaborative manner and receives and implements coaching from others to improve performance.
    • Communicates with supervisor to contribute to effective programming.
    • Conducts all interactions with staff, clients, and internal and external customers in positive, professional, and caring manner.
    • Completes other duties as assigned.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The following positions or frequent movements are typical of the job: sitting, walking, running, standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, stooping, kneeling, and crawling, often for extended periods of the workday. Assignment may require the ability to physically move clients during possible physical interventions in order to maintain a safe learning environment, and may require employees to wear protective apparel and equipment when necessary.

    The position requires that an individual be able to learn new tasks quickly and effectively. Job requirements may change frequently. The ability to understand and carry out detailed, involved, instructions is mandatory. The incumbent must be able to travel to multiple locations as needed, when needed to conduct organizational business. Subject to inside environmental conditions.

    EXPECTED SCHEDULE

    This is a year-round, full-time or part-time position. Hours of work will be Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 7:00pm. Program operation days are determined by the corresponding program calendar and school calendars, where applicable.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum High School Diploma required
    • Experience working with children
    • Successful completion of Safe and Positive Approaches Training required

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Bachelor's degree in Human Services field highly desired
    • Registered Behavior Technician certification highly desired
    • Minimum 1 year experience working in Human Services field or school setting highly desired
    • Knowledge or previous experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders highly desired
    • Previous experience or knowledge delivering Applied Behavior Analysis services to individuals with Autism highly desired
    • Current First Aid and CPR Training preferred
