    RN Manager of Oncology Clinic & Infusion Center Operations, TOG West & Lenoir City

    Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

    Responsible for Clinical Oversite of Medical Oncology Clinic and Infusion centers at Lenior City and West. Travel to Knoxville may be necessary at times.

    Thompson Oncology Group (TOG) is a leading provider of medical oncology services offering patients access to established drug-based treatments and the latest clinical trial medications.

    Our team of certified medical oncologists and advanced practice providers deliver on-site care and treatments such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and hormone therapy, at affiliated infusion centers across our region.


    Position Summary:

    The Regional Oncology/Hematology Clinic & Infusion Center Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and leading multiple physician oncology clinics and hospital-based infusion centers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, accurate, and safe oncology and hematology care.

    This role involves supervising administrative and clinical staff to operate effectively and provide top-notch care to oncology and hematology patients in alignment with the mission of Thompson Cancer Survival Center (TCSC) and Thompson Oncology Group (TOG). Reports to the Director of Clinical Services.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee staffing, scheduling, and workflow of physician oncology and hematology clinics and hospital-based infusion centers to guarantee a safe environment and quality patient care.
    • Ensure adherence to established clinic and hospital-based policies, procedures, goals, and safety standards. Consistently communicate and implement policies.
    • Conduct staff/physician rounds to communicate TCSC & TOG goals and priorities, share information, and gather feedback.
    • Regularly assess patient experience results and create improvement action plans in collaboration with staff and physicians.
    • Evaluate staffing needs in clinics and infusion centers and make recommendations to senior management as required.
    • Lead the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of employees for physician clinics and infusion centers.
    • Define and assess core competencies for all administrative and clinical staff.
    • Monitor and evaluate staff performance annually, providing recognition for high achievers and applying corrective actions when needed.
    • Work with nurse practitioners in conjunction with their supervising physicians.
    • Meet with administrative and clinical staff monthly.
    • Ensure optimal staffing levels and allocation of staff in administrative services, clinics, and infusion centers.
    • Identify staff training needs and promote team development for both clinical and non-clinical staff.
    • Collaborate with various medical disciplines, departments, and physician offices to ensure coordinated patient care.
    • Ensure efficient use of all accounting, information service, and clinical EMR applications by staff. Arrange for necessary training.
    • Supervise billing processes and collections. Work with financial services to resolve claim issues promptly.
    • Manage clinic and infusion center budgets effectively. Review patient accounts for billing and processing accuracy.
    • Oversee payroll preparation and monitor time off, call-ins, and overtime.
    • Develop and enhance quality and performance indicators.
    • Collaborate on policy development to ensure regulatory compliance and safety.
    • Maintain HIPAA compliance and promote strict patient and staff confidentiality.
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines.
    • Manage operational reports and statistical data collection for administrative and regulatory purposes.
    • Streamline materials management processes and maintain cost-efficient supply ordering and utilization.
    • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and maintenance staff interacting with clinics and infusion centers.
    • Participate in meetings and interdisciplinary committees as necessary.
    • Stay informed on cancer and patient care-related issues.
    • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and handle patient inquiries and complaints effectively.
    • Engage in continuous professional development through educational programs, literature review, and professional organization memberships.
    • Uphold the Standards and Behaviors of Covenant Health to foster a positive work environment.
    • Limited local travel may be required.
    • Fulfill any other assigned duties as necessary.
    Qualifications


    Minimum Education:
    Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, business, or related field. RN, Pharmacist, or Medical Technologist qualifications preferred.
    Master's Degree is a plus.


    Minimum Experience:
    Three (3) years' experience in a health-related field, preferably in an oncology setting. Two (2) years of leadership experience in a multi-physician practice(s).

    Familiarity with health information regulations, computer skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.


    Licensure Requirement:
    Current state RN license. Certification in Oncology Nursing preferred. Must hold a valid Tennessee driver's license Class D with minimum insurance coverage required by the state. Driving record must meet Covenant Health standards at all times.
