The Nurse Manager nursing practice involves twenty-four hour accountability for prudent resource management in the delivery of safe patient care by all

The Specialty Clinic Manager coordinates, directs, and performs duties associated with the administrative management of the Specialty Clinic with responsibility for planning, organization, development, direction, and evaluation of Specialty Clinical operations.
Duties include but not limited to:
Evaluates patient care processes and implements changes in the delivery of patient care in collaboration with ACNE and ACOS for Specialty.
Oversees Specialty staff and directly supervises all UAP, LPN, RN and other staff as identified in your assigned clinic location.
Designs and employs various processes to facilitate the development and implementation of strategic goals and plans aimed at meeting patient care needs and performance measures.
Plans, Organizes, Staffs, and Controls the work ofVApersonnel assigned to the patient care area.
Conducts routine analysis of workload measures and evaluation of their efficacy in the form of recommendations for resource allocation and deployment.
Maintains knowledge regarding local, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN), VHA initiatives and communicates pertinent information timely and appropriately. Initiates and leads multidisciplinary projects, sets standards for professional practice, and evaluates staff ability to meet these expectations.Provides full staff assistance on administrative matters affecting patient centered care, nursing process, data driven/evidence based education and process, continuous improvement, team based care, and organizational policy.
Develops, implements, and maintains a systematic process for unit-specific competency review and continually evaluates the currency and applicability of the competency review program.
Promotes a team approach to patient care and develops staff for leadership activities and mentors them to promote achievement.Provides oversight for ensuring compliance with applicable clinical practice guidelines within the scopes of each member of the clinic staff in his/her areas.
Maintains a positive and productive working relationship other leadership in the assigned areas. Provides cross coverage for other assigned Clinic Managers and the Associate Chief Nurse, Ambulatory Specialty Service (ACNE) as needed.VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package:

7402(d), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
The approving official may authorize a waiver of the requirement for ACEN or CCNE accreditation of any degree in nursing provided the college or university has regional accreditation from an accrediting body recognized by the Department of Education at the time of the candidate's graduation and the composite qualifications of the applicant warrant such consideration.
In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing.
OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing.
Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the
VAalong with a copy of the MSN transcript.

Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
Preferred Experience:
5 years of Nursing practice. Experience with cardiac monitoring, function, and treatment modalities. 2 years of supervisory.
