    Job Summary

    This position will work closely with Director to establish policies and procedures for graduate admission processing and both graduate and undergraduate academic advising.

    Functions will include overseeing hiring, training, and managing advising office staff, as well as coordinating with Assistant Directors and office leads for the effective completion of day-to-day advising and degree management.

    Fosters and maintains effective working relations with JSOM Deans and degree program contacts, as well as external departments, such as Undergraduate and Graduate Education and Registrar's.

    Provide guidance to departments, employees and students on policies and procedures; handle special projects as assigned Minimum Education and Experience

    Bachelor's degree in a related field; 5-7 years related professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Education and Experience Experience in advising, student services, and engagement. Excellent leadership, supervisory, planning, problem solving, organizational, project management skills.

    Strong written and oral communication skills, public speaking, organizational skills, proficient computer skills Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Development and Managing (60%) – Establish policies and procedures for graduate admission processing and both graduate and undergraduate academic advising, in collaboration with Director. Oversee the hiring, training, and managing of advising office staff. Coordinate with Assistant Directors and office leads for the effective completion of day-to-day advising and degree management.

    Admissions/Advising Resource (30%) – Provide guidance to departments, employees, and students regarding University and School policies and procedures.

    Other Duties (10%) – Handle special projects related to graduate admission and advising as assigned. Physical Activities Working Conditions Additional Information Remote Work Notice
    A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1 day work from home).

    Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice.

    Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required.

    Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
