Job DescriptionParts and Service Counter Associate
Summary Description:
Performs a variety of customer service, in store marketing, promoting, advertising and stocking duties related to the receiving, sale, and delivery of parts and accessories that contribute to the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of the dealership with a particular focus on parts and service departments. Ongoing responsibility for assisting with the counter parts sales, service department scheduling and customer service responsibilities. Particular focus on the sale of new and used trailers.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Trailer Parts Dept:
· Sells products and/or services to meet the customer's needs.
· Maintain customer goodwill by greeting and acknowledging all customers he/she comes in contact with.
· Assist in keeping parts department clean and orderly.
· Record all sales and/or customer transactions that occur.
· Assist customers with special order parts.
· Assist with General Manager in merchandising displays.
· Maintains the retail sales floor and displays to meet or exceed the dealership's standards and improve customer satisfaction.
· Controls showroom inventory to ensure maximum sales and customer satisfaction.
· Performs routine housekeeping tasks that maintain and enhances the cleanliness of products and the retail sales area.
· When working the parts counter, follows prescribed cash, credit, and check processing procedures of the dealership. Process warranties and new return merchandise as required at a point of sale.
· Attends training and meetings as prescribed by Management to maintain proficiency in his/her job description.
· Uses dealership equipment and resources safely and proficiently.
· Performs other tasks as required by Management.
· Maintains a professional appearance per dealership guidelines.
· Verify receiving documents.
· Follow up on shortages and expedite by reporting to Management.
· Should be knowledgeable in merchandising.
2. Trailer Service Dept:
· With acquired knowledge of trailer types, models, inventory and pricing, analyze customer needs to identify correct trailer solution.
· Process customer service requests, maintain service schedule
· Communicate effectively with techs and Service Manager to maintain a smooth flow of repairs through the shop on a daily basis.
· Assist in handling customer complaints and concerns and make sure the problem is corrected to the customer and dealership's satisfaction.
· Greet customers immediately in a courteous manner.
· Treat customers fairly and with honesty, and demonstrate our commitment to superior customer service and ethical business practices.
3. Qualifications and Job Requirements:
· Ability to speak effectively one on one.
· Ability to effectively listen.
· Ability to interpret customer needs.
· Ability to absorb and immediately apply information learned.
· Basic computer skills.
· High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
· Good organizational skills.
· Forklift experience a plus.
· Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
4. Physical Demands:
· The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
· Requires use of both hands.
· Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, handle tools and lift in excess of 50lbs of material.
· Frequently requires the ability to help customers hook up trailers to their vehicles.
5. Commitments:
· Treat all employees and customers fairly, courteously and with dignity.
· Maintain positive relationships with customer, other employees and owners.
· Be early, flexible and available for scheduling.
· Focus on quality and service.
· Be neat and clean.
· Wear uniform shirt every day.
· Demonstrate an interest in growing with the business.
· Available Monday through Friday 8A-5P and Saturday 9A-1P.
