Follow procedures & direction, perform manual labor, proper usage of PPE, operate mobile equipment (manual and powered), operate fixed / stationary equipment, loading & unloading containers, perform equipment inspections, identification of various container size/type, scanning container movements, consolidation of containers & material, staging containers in designated area, recognize markings & labels.
Tasks will be performed on a daily basis in the designated processing area as assigned by Leads & Supervisors in order to meet processing objectives for material disposal.
Load and unload various size containers (totes, drums, tankers, trailers. using mechanical or manual means.Transport hazardous materials from storage locations within the facility as directed.
Assist in completing all necessary paperwork for processing materials to include transportation of materials to and from various locations.
Perform general housekeeping duties.Inspect material handling equipment as required.
Assist in the loading/unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials at designated sites utilizing appropriate equipment for which you are appropriately trained.
3 to 6 months general labor experience.~ Forklift experience preferred.
Ability to communicate through reading and writing.
Trained in the use of material handling equipment.
Required Certification/Licenses/Training:
~40-Hour HAZWOPER training preferred.
You must have the ability to handle hazardous materials: material handling, drum handling, waste processing and consolidation, waste sampling and handling, and household hazardous waste.
You will be working outdoors, exposed to weather conditions and occasionally work indoors.You are required to use Personal Protective Equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, steel-toed shoes, apron, Tyvek coat, full-faced respirator, a powered air purifying respirator (PAPR) and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
