    Cloud Engineer (DevOps at SMX(View all jobs) )
    United States

    SMX is seeking a driven and talented Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our thriving Cloud Services business unit and work with some of the best Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers in the market.

    This position is 100% remote. As a Cloud DevOps Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on the creation, integration, and product lifecycle. This individual will bring a strong trouble-shooting background, generalist technical skill set, and an ability to deploy production-ready solutions.

    We are looking for an individual with a solid foundation that is hungry to grow their skills in the cloud.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities
    Proficiency in AWS services, focusing on deployment, management, and optimization.
    Manage and configure Windows IIS (Internet Information Services) for web servers.
    Configure and maintain Splunk services.
    Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines.
    Utilize AWS Lambda for serverless computing and event-driven architectures.
    Familiarization with maintaining and supporting Jenkins and Argent.
    Monitor applications and infrastructure using monitoring tools.
    Provision and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
    Required Skills/Experience
    Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or additional years of experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
    Proven ability to interpret client requirements into engineering plans and discrete tasks.
    Proven ability to develop and deploy Production-ready AWS solutions through Infrastructure as Code.
    Experience developing DevOps solutions from scratch using tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible, Jenkins, and related products.
    Ability to build code pipelines and support deployment activities.
    Ability to write scripts in JavaScript, Bash, Python, or similar.
    A good understanding of foundational cloud components (e.g., VPN, IAM, CloudWatch, EC2, Lambda, Glue)
    Strong trouble shooting and written and verbal communication skills.
    Familiar working in an Agile team.
    Customer-focused attitude.
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
    Desired Skills/Experience
    Existing AWS Certification
    5+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or Sr. Cloud Engineer
    Prior experience in a software development role is a plus.
    Knowledge of best practices in security, networking, and compliance within cloud environments.
    Knowledge and experience with Axway.
