    Job Description

    American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level 3 Trauma Center position, requiring a NC or compact RN license and five years of OR experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Work in a busy hospital operating room with 19 OR suites and an average of 50 cases per day
    • Specialties include trauma, ortho trauma, total joints, spine, vascular, heart, bariatrics, robotics, GYN, HPB, urology, ENT, plastics, eyes, and pain
    • Utilizes standard OR equipment and Epic EMR
    • 12-hour day shifts from , with an average of 6 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule
    • On-call response time is 45 minutes, with call shifts during 11p-7a or 7a-7p/7p-7a on weekends
    • Weekend rotation required every 4th weekend, which may include call or scheduled shifts
    • No floating required
    • Responsibilities include circulating for a wide range of surgical specialties and maintaining flexibility for diverse cases
    • Support provided by service line clinical supervisors, charge nurses, educators, OR assistants, secretaries, and tech engineers
    • Travelers must be flexible, self-driven, and motivated team players
    • Orientation includes NEO and 2 days of department-specific training
    • Scrubs are provided
    • Free parking available
    • Must be willing to work 75% of assigned holidays
    • Requests for time off are subject to manager approval

    Requirements

    • Active NC or compact RN license
    • BLS certification required
    • Minimum of 5 years recent operating room RN experience
    • Ability to circulate in trauma, ortho, total joints, spine, vascular, robotics, urology, GYN, general, and bariatric cases
    • Recent Epic EMR experience preferred
    • Must provide a professional reference from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge RN within the past year
    • Travelers must live at least 50 miles from the home unit
    • Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
    • No previous permanent employment at the facility within the past year
    • First-time travelers are not eligible
