    SUMMARY

    Assembles, populates components, solders, tests, electronic printed circuit board assemblies. Repairs boards at component level.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    1. Knowledge of general electronic manufacturing and testing methods and products.
    2. Proficient in assembling printed circuit boards and soldering small parts.
    3. Ability to work from manufacturing orders, schematics, and written or oral procedures.
    4. Ability to be dependable - Be at work when required and on time.
    5. General knowledge of a SMT Component Placement machine.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Installs components and parts such as switches, coils, transformers, relays, transistors and semi-conductor circuits in chassis, circuit boards, panels & other units.
    • Pulls and preps parts.
    • Responsible for receiving inventory.
    • Inspects and tests the finished printed circuit boards.
    • Operates computer controlled automated equipment. Could be required to perform some routine maintenance and repairs.
    • Responsible for quality assurance of finished work.
    • Examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to specifications.
    • Completes all work orders accurately for each job.
    • Perform routine cycle counts when required.
    • Evaluate RMA's and warranty claims.
    • Receives and inspects electronics inventory.
    • Input diagnostic results into a digital application.
    • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
    • Functions in a workplace of dignity and respect for all.
    • Functions as a team member and to get along with others.

    • Reports for work on time as scheduled and ready to perform.
    • Performs other similar or related duties as directed, assigned or as necessary to accomplish the department's objectives in an effective manner.
    SAFETY & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Accountable for all concerns within their scope of work and has the absolute responsibility to remedy, report and/or communicate any issue to managers, supervisors, safety or environmental managers as appropriate.
    • Follows all safe work practices, watches out for fellow workers, and keeps their work area clean.
    • Ensures area remains compliant regarding hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and universal waste.
    • The following personal protection equipment is required and must be worn while working in the manufacturing facility or customers' facilities:
    1. Company approved safety glasses or goggles
    2. Company approved steel toe ESD shoes.
    3. Appropriate hand protection.
    4. Ear protection in designated areas.
    5. Appropriate clothing.
    6. Other safety equipment as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months or more related experience and/or training in thru-hole and surface mount assembly.
    • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and execute test instructions and electronic assembly drawings. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to solve practical electronic problems.
    • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
    • COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE SKILLS: Knowledge of Visual Manufacturing System, Word & Excel, Manncorp CNC Software.
    • EQUIPMENT: Digital voltmeter, soldering stations, reflow oven, pick-n-place machine, microscopes, computers, test fixtures & basic hand tools.
    • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None required.

    • The noise level in the electronic lab work environment is usually quiet, although hearing protection may be required in designated areas of the manufacturing facility.
    • On the occasion when the employee visits a customer site the employee may be exposed to areas that require additional personal safety equipment such as hard hat, hearing protection and respiratory protection.
