    Position Summary:


    Responsible for performing routine repairs and maintenance on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems including air distribution machinery, pneumatic and digital controls, hot and chilled water distribution, and variable volume systems, independently employs specially designed software and remote computer links to monitor systems and troubleshoot malfunctions.

    All while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    Performs troubleshooting and repair of building distribution systems including low pressure steam distribution, heat exchangers, hot and cold deck systems, air handlers, and pneumatic and digital controls
    Performs troubleshooting and repair of commercial heating and cooling systems including combination units up to 100 tons capacity.
    Performs major component replacement work in conjunction with central energy management and control system operators
    Monitors and adjusts system set points and output using remote computer links the building's programmable logic controls
    Performs minor welding or soldering; reads and interprets blueprints and sketches; reads and interprets various gauges; performs related work as required
    Instructs, and /or leads lesser skilled tradespersons; may perform quality control and inspection duties related to the trade, and performs related work as required
    Evaluates situations to determine appropriate action in regard to maintenance.
    Performs troubleshooting and repair low temp equipment i.e. walk-in cooler & freezers, ice machines, refrigeration units.
    Performs troubleshooting and repair package a/c units
    Performs routine preventive maintenance on HVAC/R equipment i.e. belts, filters, bearing lubrication

    Performs troubleshooting and repair on components on low pressure boiler systems, chiller systems, cooling towers including motor & pump replacement or repairs.

    Performs daily checks, completes assigned work orders and daily duties per Facility Maintenance SOPs.

    Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

    Maintains accurate preventive maintenance records.
    Responds to Security alarm calls as needed.
    Keeps work area clean and performs housekeeping duties as required.

    Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration in accordance to Facility Maintenance SOPs.

    Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.

    Responds to repair/maintenance calls and performs routine security checks, as assigned by supervisor and the Daily Duty Checklist, in accordance to Facilities Maintenance and Isleta Resort and Casino SOPs and/or Procedures/Policies.

    Occasionally, prepares written materials (e.g. scope of work, work orders, bids, equipment inventory, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written support and/or conveying information.
    Occasionally performs quality control and inspection duties related to the trade.
    Familiarization with shop practices, operation and use of equipment, hand and power tools, and materials.
    Familiarization with safety, work place, education and understanding of State and local Safety Orders.

    Familiarization with Blueprint reading, National Electric Code (NEC), Uniform Pluming Code (UMC), National Fire Protection Association Codes (NEPA), Life Safety Code, and local codes/practices as they pertain to trade.

    Performs other duties of a similar or related level as necessary or assigned.

    May be assigned to drive company vehicle on public roads, to and from Isleta Pueblo properties, and/or other destinations, during shift.

    Education and Experience:
    High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent required.

    Must have four years paid experience as a licensed Journeyman in heating/refrigeration work, and/or a certificate of completion, of such a program from a post-high school vocational institute, which may substitute for two (2) years; military, commercial, or industrial experience may substitute.

    New Mexico State or Federally issued Journeyman Low Pressure Boiler License(BOM1)(trade specific) or (BOM2)
    Must have valid EPA card.
    New Mexico State or Federally issued Journeyman License (trade specific).

    Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification

    Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA.
    Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.
    Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.
    Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.
    Must have a valid New Mexico driver's license with no restrictions as part of the employment requirements.

    Should not have had a driver's license revoked or suspended in the last 3 years prior to the date of the Employment Application, acceptability will be determined by Risk Management.

    Driving records will be checked periodically to ensure continued compliance with this requirement.
    New Mexico State or Federally issued Journeyman License (trade specific).


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    Ability to work alone without supervision as a member of the Maintenance Call-Out team
    Must be able to repair low-pressure steam heat exchanger, hot and cold deck systems, and pneumatic and digital controls
    Must be able to troubleshoot and repair commercial heating and cooling systems including combination units up to 100 tons capacity
    Ability to repair and/or replace building mechanical systems components, including programmable logic controls
    Ability to use computer-based monitoring and control devices in maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC systems
    Ability to perform difficult HVAC/plumbing tasks
    Ability to plan and design HVAC/plumbing projects
    Ability to read and write English; prepare records and reports
    Ability to operate light and some heavy duty equipment; to use manual tools; to operate power tools; to keep records; to perform basic arithmetic or complex depending on trade; to measure correctly
    Possess extensive knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of assigned trade or job duties.
    Possess extensive knowledge of State and Federal codes as it pertains to trade
    Possess good knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade

    Must be able to read, interpret, prepare, draft, and maintain all records, documents, prints, blueprints, and as-builts required of the trade.


    Physical Demands and Work Environment:


    Must be able to navigate up and down stairs, ladders, crawl spaces, catwalks and uneven surfaces both in and out doors.

    Must be able to climb ladders 40 feet in height and work at heights 27 feet from the floor's surface.

    Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
    Must be able to lift objects up to pounds with assistance.
    Must be able to lift, move and place 50 pounds with assistance.
    Must be able to push and/or pull 50 pounds.
    Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions particular to this region.
    Must be able to work in small confined areas.
    Smoke filled environment.

    Work is generally performed in, both, an indoor and outdoor Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level.

    Possible expose to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazards, Blood Borne Pathogens, dirt, dust, fumes, and/or unpleasant odors.

    May involve exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

    May occasionally deal with angry or hostile individuals.

    May be required to work weekends and special events
