- Under close supervision, supports the estimation process by reviewing proposal specifications, drawings, and attending pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required proposal contents. May travel to job locations to assist in confirming project site conditions.
- Maintains files and supporting documentation for estimate figures, change orders, and credits.
- Assists in development of methodology, tools and approaches using fundamentals of HW Project Management practices.
- Calculates various statistical data - quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, equipment, etc.
- Researches historical data (purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compiles summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.
- Assists in preparation of estimates by completing a complete takeoff of scope of work.
- Attends pre-bid conferences with Estimating team members and reviews projects with field operations personnel as part of estimating process.
- Participates in developing project updates and bid package estimate documents.
- Maintains files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures.
- Follows awarded contracts - may include estimating extra work or change orders.
- Assists in the monitoring of conceptual estimates with actual cost data.
