    About the Organization

    Description

    JOB SUMMARY:
    • Ensure proper operation of all kitchen work station and production of all food items in that station.
    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Responsible for ensuring proper preparation and presentation of food in area.
    • Must have basic knowledge of all hot and cold menu recipes.
    • Ensure that recipes are followed; maintain preparation consistency.
    • Ensure expedient service of all items to public; ensure portion control.
    • Ensure work area is cleaned and stocked throughout your shift.
    • Ensure proper holding temperatures and storage practices are utilized.
    • Ensure sanitation and cleanliness of station; report any safety hazards or equipment problems.
    • Ensure kitchen is ready for next shift.
    • Ability to work any and all stations in kitchen.
    • Follow all departmental policies and procedures.
    • Assist where needed.
    • This position's duties are not limited to only the duties listed above. Duties and responsibilities may be changed, expanded, reduced or deleted by Management to meet the needs of the Food and Beverage Department.
    MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Shifts and days off may vary according to business levels.
    • Must be in uniform with name tag and wear company approved safety shoe with slip resistant sole.
    Position Requirements

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • One to two years hands on operational experience in food service operations preferred.
    • Familiar with operation of kitchen equipment; general sanitation procedures; overall basic food handling.
    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    • Must have and maintain current health card.
    • Must have telephone or reliable message number.
    • Proof of eligibility to work in USA.

    • Have the ability to read, understand, acknowledge, and follow the Policies and Procedures set forth for the Food and Beverage Department.
    • Knowledge of the Moonshadow menu.
    • Have the ability to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Knowledge of every station in the kitchen with its overall function.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Assist the Executive Chef with banquets and special events.
    • Initiate, promote and enforce safety and quality procedures, primarily the cooking and holding processes of hot and cold foods.
    • Ensure safe handling of all equipment within the kitchen (e.g. mixers, slicers, ovens, steamers, and etc.)
    • Maintain and prep work area for oncoming shift.
    EQUIPMENT, MACHINERY, TOOLS AND MATERIAL UTILIZATION:
    • Proper knife procedures

    • Neat professional appearance with emphasis on good personal hygiene and grooming.
    • Appropriately styled hair and makeup; tasteful jewelry and accessories.
    • Comply with all health codes and regulations.
    • Requires walking, bending, pulling and reaching throughout the shift.
    • Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Flexible, willing to cross train.
    • Must have own tools.
    WORK ENVIROMENT:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    The work environment is characterized as a restaurant kitchen setting where ovens, steam tables, grills, flat tops, stoves, refrigeration units, printers, and dish room are used to as part of the job. The noise level ranges from low to high, depending on the pace and business levels of the restaurant. The immediate work environment consists of the previously mentioned units and areas along with soiled floors.
