Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position:

• This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colorado.
• A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.
• Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
• Student Loan repayment may be authorized.

Duties

• Assist the surgeon by conducting tissue manipulation and retraction during surgical procedures.
• Serve as a credentialed Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to provide preoperative, intra-operative and postoperative services.
• First Assist duties include positioning patient, preparing and draping the surgical site. Providing exposure, retraction, and hemostasis. Use and handling of surgical instrumentation. Tissue handling, dissection, suturing, and stapling.
• Perform preoperative assessments, and reviews and reports lab results.
• Serve as Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) with primary responsibility to provide surgical care to patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures.
