    ImOn Communications has been the LOCAL choice for high-speed Internet, cable TV, and phone in Eastern Iowa since 2007. Since then, we have expanded our network to provide fiber Internet services to more than a dozen communities in Iowa and beyond As we grow our network, we are looking for a Supervisor of Outside Plant Construction Inspectors to join our team in Duluth.
    The Supervisor of OSP Construction Inspectors will lead, direct, and assign ImOn Inspectors to oversee construction activities on the worksite and will be involved in monitoring the activities of construction contractors in the field. Work crews and individuals on site will take their direction from the Supervisor of OSP Construction Inspectors, who is responsible for knowing what work must be done and applying resources to monitor that work.
    While the initial focus will be on delivering a two-year FTTH build, high-performing team members may have the opportunity to take on expanded duties, participate in future projects, or explore relocation opportunities as the company expands into additional markets.
    Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Schedules fiber testing and verifications by coordinating ImOn Inspectors and Contractors
    • Responsible for completing daily and weekly production reports.
    • Perform on-site surveys and attend field meetings required to ensure projects meet the delivery/commitment dates identified.
    • Occasionally meet with various municipalities and vendors to review project scope and to ensure positive communication is maintained.
    • Immediately report all notable events to management.
    • Oversee and coordinate projects in the field to ensure they are on time and within budget.
    • Validate that construction redlines and invoices match actual placement.
    • Ensures that all work considers the safety of the customer and general public and compliance with all OSHA guidelines.
    • Ensures operational success of FTTH builds by providing strategic input for construction planning, enforcing productivity, quality, and service standards, resolving field and scheduling issues, and driving continuous improvement in construction management practices and systems.
    • Responds to and participates in emergency and outage situations.
    • Ensures that all work considers the safety of the customer and general public and compliance with all OSHA guidelines.
    Requirements
    We are looking for people with the following:
    • 3-5 year(s) experience in one or combination of equipment installation, cable splicing, line work, installation and repair.
    • Must accommodate after-hours work as required.
    • Occasional overnight travel is required.
    • Excellent observational and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Effective communication skills
    • Strong knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure desired.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Valid State-issued Driver License with a driving record that allows employee to be insured by ImOn's insurance carrier.
