    Mission or Goal of Unit: The mission of the Department ofObstetrics and Gynecology is to provide the highest quality clinical care inboth general and specialty Obstetrics and Gynecology to central Virginia. Inaddition to the clinical mission, the department has the allied goals ofproviding undergraduate and graduate medical education in the field andadvancing the field through basic and clinical research. The Department is committed to enhance diversity among its faculty, staff, andlearners. Department faculty are responsible for providing services to theirprofession and to the University Community. Chief Purpose of this position: The Department of Obstetrics andGynecology is seeking qualified candidates to provide specialty care ingynecologic oncology to patients at VCU Health. This position is designed toprovide care in gynecologic oncology within the Division of GynecologicOncology, including surgery, in- and outpatient consultation, chemotherapy, andin- and outpatient management of patients with gynecologic cancers. Theposition will include participation in student and resident education as wellas in the department's clinical research activities. Position Responsibilities: Teaching
    The faculty member will have teaching responsibilities to include activelyparticipating in the department's educational activities, with particularattention to educating students and residents in their core educationalobjectives in gynecologic oncology. Research
    The person filling the position is encouraged to initiate clinical researchprojects. They are expected to participate in and facilitate otherdepartment research and contribute toscholarly publications/presentations. Service
    The faculty member will serve on departmental, hospital and universitycommittees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in theirfield. The gynecologic oncology specialist will be assigned to committees atthe discretion of the division director and department chair. Clinical
    Full participation in the clinical activities of the gynecologic oncologydivision is expected. Clinical activities are to be determined by thegynecologic oncology division chief and are expected to include a combinationof clinic, inpatient care, and surgery. Outpatient responsibilities may beat VCU Medical Center or off-site at the discretionof the chair and division director. Other
    Participate in department and institutional administrative activities asassigned by the division director and department chair. Required Qualifications:
    • Completion of ABOG accredited fellowship training inGynecologic Oncology or its equivalent
    • Eligible for medical license in Virginia
    • Potential for scholarship or creative expression tocomplement and expand existing expertise in the Department of Obstetricsand Gynecology
    • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering adiverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so asa faculty member at VCU
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Completion of an ACGME accredited OB/GYN residency
    • Demonstrated talent and experience in teaching andcommitment to research & patient care
    • BC/BE by the American Board of OB/GYN in GynecologicOncology
    • Robotics training in minimally invasive surgery isencouraged
