Description

Forklift Operator at GreenSheen PaintWe are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our team at GreenSheen Paint. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. The Forklift Operator will also be involved in loading and unloading goods from vehicles, as well as performing routine maintenance on the forklift to ensure its optimal functionality.

Responsibilities:

Safe Operation: Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all safety guidelines and protocols.
Material Handling: Move materials and products within the warehouse or facility using the forklift, ensuring accurate and timely delivery to designated locations.
Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods from trucks, containers, and other vehicles. Verify and inspect incoming materials against invoices or packing slips.
Inventory Management: Keep accurate records of inventory movements, perform stock counts, and report any discrepancies to the operations manager.
Quality Control: Ensure that materials are handled and stored appropriately to prevent damage or deterioration. Report any damaged or faulty equipment to the operations manager.
Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance checks on the forklift, including inspecting forklift components and reporting any malfunctions or issues promptly.
Communication: Collaborate with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate tasks and maintain efficient workflow.
Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Follow proper protocols for handling hazardous materials, if applicable.
Efficiency: Strive to optimize warehouse operations by minimizing downtime, reducing errors, and contributing to overall efficiency improvements.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a forklift operator.
Valid forklift certification or license. (Obtainable later if not in possession of.)
Ability to operate a forklift in a variety of weather and work conditions.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to forklift operation.
A valid driver's license.
A strong work ethic and positive attendance record.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
5 or more years of experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or industrial setting.
