is partnered with a reputable manufacturing organization that is seeking to add a

Production Manager

to their team in Norfolk, Virginia.

SUMMARY:
This role demands a dynamic leader skilled in planning, scheduling, and maintaining the highest standards of production.

The ideal candidate will have a strong manufacturing background, with experience in naval welding programs and a demonstrated capability in implementing lean manufacturing principles.

REPORTS TO :
Vice President

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee daily operations of the fabrication shop ensuring that production schedules, quality, and cost objectives are met.
Develop and implement detailed plans and schedules to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Manage and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of production processes.
Enhance manufacturing operations through the integration of ISO standards and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
Monitor and evaluate workflow and assembly methods and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with engineering and design teams to streamline production phases.
Provide leadership, guidance, and training to production staff.
Forecast needs and manage procurement of materials and equipment.
Regularly report on production status and progress to senior management.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production management role within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with Naval Welding (Nav Weld) programs is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of ISO quality standards and experience in an ISO-regulated environment.
Certified Lean Six Sigma practitioner, with proven track record of implementing successful process improvements preferred.
Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in the use of ERP systems and MS Office Suite.
