    Procedural Recovery Unit Nurse Director

    The Nursing Director of the Procedural Recovery Unit and the Procedural Float Pool is theleader ofthe clinicalteam of nursing withadministrative,fiscal, and personnel accountability in the designated clinical area.

    The Nursing Director is responsible for creating and maintaining a therapeutic, healing, patient- and family- centered care environment. They participate in the development, refinement, communication, and actualization oftheBWHDepartmentofNursing(DON)vision,professionalpracticemodel,andrelationship- based care delivery system.

    As the clinical leader of the team, the Nursing Director is responsible for establishing and maintaining the standards of nursing care and practice.

    The Nursing Director establishes and maintains true collaborative relationships with nursing staff, all teams and departments vital to foster optimal patient outcomes and a professional practice environment.

    They partner with inter-professional and intra-professional leadership to set mutual goals that advance teamwork, interdisciplinary learning, just culture and the environment of care under the mentorship and direction of the Senior Nursing Director of Procedural Services.

    Servesasaleaderwithinthecommunityofnursing,inaccordancewiththe standardsof the team of nursing, including adherence to the ANA Code of Ethics.
    Provides ongoing formal and informal feedback regarding professional developmentto staff members.
    Encouragesandrecommendsstaffparticipationinunit-baseddecisionmaking, Department of Nursing committees and organizational initiatives.
    RelationshipBased Care
    Responsibleforcreatingandmaintaininga caring,therapeutic,healing,patient-and family-centered care environment
    Promotesaninclusiveenvironmentsupportiveofapatient-andfamily-centeredcarefor a diverse community.
    Accountableforcontributionstoplanning,implementingandevaluatingtheDepartment of Nursing Quality Plan, inclusive of nurse sensitive indicators and patient satisfaction metrics.

    ActivelyparticipatesinBrighamandWomen'sHospitalqualityimprovementprograms, assuring clear articulation of the quality agenda by all staff in their patient care area(s) and/or specialty patient populations.

    Develops local-based quality agenda using performance improvement methodologies in collaborationwithdepartmentandhospital-basedqualityleadersassuringanenvironment of continuous quality improvement, improved patient and systems' outcomes.

    Communicatesandtranslatesoutcomestostaffandinterdisciplinarycolleagues,assuring staff's active participation in addressing quality improvement opportunities.
    Providesleadershipindevelopingquality-drivenandcost-effectiveplanstodeliver patient care, including participation in strategic planning
    Developsandparticipatesincreatingsystemstomonitorthepatientcareenvironment, knowledgeable about and mindful of relevant regulatory compliance.
    Demonstratesleadershipininterdisciplinarycollaboration,includingparticipationinthe development, implementation and evaluation of joint protocols for patient care.
    Seeksresources/servesasaliaisonforstafffromwithinthelargernursingandBWH communities.
    EstablishesandmaintainopencommunicationwithmanagersofSupportServicesand other Department of Nursing resources as neededto assureclean and safe patientcare environments.
    Collaborateswithnurseleadersandotherdepartmentstoassureadequatesupplies, operational, capital resources are available to staff caring for patients.
    MSN(or)DNP(or)PhD,(or)aBSNwithaMaster'sdegreeinarelatedfield, required.

    • Clinicalexperiencewillbeevaluatedonanindividualbasis bythehiringsenior nursing director.
    • Experience in leading and providing care in a procedural space preferred.
    to develop and to administer policies, procedures, budgets, and utilize current concepts of nursing practice.

    • Must possess interpersonal skills sufficient to provide effective leadership to staff, and to interactwithpatients,visitors,physicians,otherclinicalteamsandavarietyofhospital departments.
    • Mustpossessbothmanagementandleadershipskillstobeeffectivewithmultiplelevelsof staff.
