    Description
    Product Data Steward

    Objective:
    The Product Data Steward (PDS) workswith Product Managers and others throughout the business during the new productlaunch process to help govern and define new product data as well asmaintain it throughout the product's life cycle. The Data Steward is responsiblefor the import and export of data from the Product Information Management (PIM)platform, ongoing normalization, and database structure defining how the datais stored and used by downstream systems. This data is used to drive ourcustomer-facing webstore pages, technical documentation, and internal companywarehouse and business systems. The Data Steward is also involved with usingand improving the processes for product data collection, validation, andmaintenance. Key participant of governance group which is responsible forcreating, using and improving all processes to provide, govern, validate, andmaintain product data. The Data Steward is accountable for all aspects of datadelivered by the PIM and, as such, is charged with the quality, accessibility,completeness, timeliness, accuracy, and standards of the data.

    Responsibilities:
    Data Creation-
    • Work with Product Managers to lay out time tables for data-driven tasks when launching new product
    • Gather technical attribute information from Product Managers and Engineers
    • Ensure new data meets data quality standards as established by the governance group
    • Serve on the data governance committee and lead PIM-related launch meetings
    • Import technical specifications and associated values into PIM system to prepare for warehouse systems, technical documentation, web store, product catalog and online shopping feeds
    • Manage and review product data, ensuringaccuracy and completeness by meticulously examining and scrutinizing data
    • Work effectively with cross-functional teams,such as product management, engineering, and marketing, to ensure data accuracyand consistency throughout the product lifecycle
    Maintenance-
    • Complete PIM-related tasks to support the Gecko process
    • Support and improve existing operational processes, incorporating feedback and needs of others in the value chain
    • Effectively plan, prioritize and manage multipledata-related projects concurrently
    • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, consistency,and integrity of the data by implementing quality control processes, performingregular data audits, and resolving data discrepancies or errors
    Development-
    • Contribute to future business projects, both in planning and execution phases
    • Provide oversight during development of projects to ensure the data needs and requirement requests are met
    • Enhance the existingdatabase by adding new attributes, collecting additional data fromstakeholders, and populating it in the PIM system
    • Conduct pre-launch testingof new processes to ensure their functionality and effectiveness before they golive.
    • Inform Product Managers and Engineers of their roles in new PIM tasks and assisting/training them to do so
    • Participate in the planningand execution phases of projects, ensuring that data needs and requirementrequests are effectively communicated and addressed
    • Collaborate withstakeholders to define data models that accurately represent the structure,relationships, and attributes of the data required for each project. Thisincludes identifying and defining entities, attributes, data types, and datavalidation rules
    • Work closely with technicalteams to ensure seamless integration of data across different systems andplatforms. Collaborate with IT teams to understand data integrationrequirements and assist in designing and implementing data integration solutions
    Qualifications:
    • Requires a Bachelor's Degree OR AT LEAST 5 years of equivalent experience
    • Requires prior experience working as a data steward or in a comparable position; a focus on technical data management is preferred
    • Requires strong skills and experience with MS Excel
    • Requires excellent communication skills (written and oral)
    • Requires high level of concern for data accuracy and meeting deadlines
    • Requires ability to execute multiple and simultaneous projects
    • Knowledge in managing product content for an online store is highly preferred
    • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) or Riversand's MDMCenter is preferred
    • Knowledge of Industrial Control and Automation products is preferred
