- Partner with engineering teams to identify and implement direct material productivity ideas to minimize product cost
- Liaise between internal and external teams to confirm alignment of the method of manufacture with the design intent
- Influence commodity strategies and sourcing decisions with technical knowledge
- Support demand fulfillment activities, including sourcing new suppliers, managing RFI/RFQ process, negotiating contracts and rates, raising POs, managing supplier delivery, and communicating any challenges or slippages
- Maintain contract files and update activity in SAP, , and other workflow management tools
- Recommend and implement improvements to business policies and processes and ensure that proposals and contractual documents are aligned with the company's business controls, policies, and procedures
- Balance strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to support cost reduction projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls
- Interface with the program management team and collaborate with the finance team to validate the impact of projects and contract negotiations
- 5+ years of purchasing experience, including 2+ years of Aerospace purchasing experience specifically
- Bachelor's degree is preferred; in place of a degree will consider significant relevant experience
- Supplier-facing experience, including sourcing, procurement, and delivery management
- Ability to read and interpret drawings to lead technical discussions between magniX and suppliers
- Experience working with internal and external engineering and quality teams
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills
- Knowledge of negotiation best practices, both in-person and in written form, as well as strong mediation skills
- Aerospace experience preferred
- Familiarity with should-cost analysis tools and methods a plus

About the role
magniX is looking for an additional buyer for our Supply Chain team. The buyer will interface between internal teams and current or future suppliers to drive adherence to quality, cost, and delivery targets. The preferred candidate will have a technical background in Engineering and Manufacturing.

This position's approximate base salary range is $90, $105,000.00 per year, depending on experience and level of education.
