    Volex Intergrated Manufacturing Services, Servatron located in Spokane Valley, Washington State is looking to fill two summer internships.

    Process Technician Internship:

    The purpose of the project is to provide the intern with training and practical experience pertaining to a number of industry standard tools used in electronic manufacturing and machine repair and maintenance.

    The intern will obtain an understanding and practical application of tools use to:

    • Place and reflow electronic components
    • Equipment programming and modification
    • Track Maintenance requirements
    • Repair Electronic assembly equipment
    • Look for and implement one automation Kaizen

    Intern will receive training and practical experience utilizing the following tools:

    • SMT Placement machines, Reflow Ovens, and Wash.
    • Selective Solder
    • MaintiMizer maintenance tracking software
    • Standard debug and repair tools

    The intent of this position is to support Process Technicians with the backlog of programming, repairs, and improvements to be made on the equipment. By week six (6), the intern is expected to be the secondary contact for Selective Solder programming/modification and able to assist on other equipment. One automation Kaizen to be completed by the end of internship program.

    Manufacturing Engineer Internship:

    The purpose of the project is to provide the intern with training and practical experience pertaining to a number of industry standard tools used in electronic manufacturing, drafting, modeling, 3D printing, and engineering change control.

    The intern will obtain an understanding and practical application of tools use to:

    • Update building layout drawings
    • Create/Modify production fixtures
    • Update assembly procedures
    • Make engineering changes
    • Complete at least 1 Kaizen project

    Intern will receive training and practical experience utilizing the following tools:

    • AutoCad
    • Alibre
    • 3D printers
    • Agile
    • Lean manufacturing

    The intern will participate in the following projects:

    • An updated building layout including the electrical layer
    • Assist Manufacturing Engineers and Process Engineers with process improvements as needed. This includes:
    • Research of current build state in production
    • Fixture design/modification and creation
    • Procedure updates
    • Engineering change request submission
