Responsibilities*Room patients and perform standard patient intake including vitals
Assist with minor clinical office procedures
Performs standard medical laboratory/Point of Care (POC) testing.
Administer medications/immunizations, injections as directed
Respond to general patient inquiries regarding treatment and clinic policies and procedures.
Coordinate patient care with outside health agencies.

May complete general administrative duties as assigned including; Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Disability and Return to Work forms, Electronic Medical Record in-basket messages, etc.

Complete other clinical and non-clinical duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*High school diploma or GED.

Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR current enrollment in, or completion of coursework in a healthcare professional program (e.g., medical school, PA program, nursing program, or related clinical training) OR an equivalent combination of education and experience years).

Demonstrated knowledge of clinical workflows, patient care, and basic medical terminology.

Desired Qualifications*Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or (RMA).
Experience working within a large complex health care setting.
Familiarity with electronic medical records system.

Work Schedule

Full Time hours, 40 hours per week, weekday schedule will vary depending on location/clinic.

May be occasional weekends.

Union Affiliation

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
