    PURPOSE:

    As a Personal Lines Sales Executive within the Shepherd family, you will sell and service new and existing accounts within the Personal Lines division.

    You will provide a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding, and servicing personal/commercial accounts. With a positive attitude, the Account Management team also provides customer service to clients as assigned and requested. As an Sales Executive within Shepherd Insurance, you will be a positive team player and coachable individual.


    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide positive, prompt, and accurate service to clients.
    • Sell and service new and existing clientele.
    • Market new and renewal business as needed. Evaluate premiums, prepare proposals, presentation packets and maintain underwriting and marketing information by carrier.
    • Perform cross-selling and account rounding functions.
    • Prepares, processes, reviews, and monitors various documents such as premiums, coverage of risk, policies, renewals, claims, applications, changes, endorsements, binders, contracts, etc.
    • Receive phone calls from clients and companies regarding policy coverage, claims or administrative needs.
    • Maintain consistent communication with current and prospective clients to sell and explain coverage gaps, account rounding and solicitation of new business within market area.
    • Develop and maintain clientele referral network.
    • Maintain a suspense system to follow up on outstanding orders, correspondence, reports, and follow up on overdue and suspense items.
    • Presents proposals, quotes, and recommends coverages based on client needs and sales of appropriate coverages.
    • Collects delinquent accounts on Agency billed policies.
    • Attends sales seminars, sales meetings or educational activities to stay up to date on the latest developments, trends, regulations in the market place.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
    Requirements

    Experience:
    At least three (3) to five (5) years' experience in similar position is desirable.

    • Required state licensing certification.
    • Professional designation is a plus.

    Education requirement:
    High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. College degree is preferred, not necessary.

    • Strong understanding of personal lines insurance coverages, forms, procedures, and policy rating systems.
    • Familiar in a variety of computer software applications including Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), agency & document managing system.
