Job description-
The Quality Inspector position conducts inspection of customer parts during the manufacturing process and before the parts are shipped to our customers.
Essential Functions
Ensure that plated (or other processed) parts meet established quality standards.
· Inspect finished parts to ensure that they ...
· Match process, chromate, topcoat/dye, wax, and other finishing on Work Order (WO)
· Assure that plating thicknesses are within tolerances specified on WO; when necessary, produce thickness reports.
· Pass go/no-go gauges, when applicable
· Pass tape test, when applicable
· Match quantities, weights, and number of containers on WO
· Signoff WO for acceptable parts, and when appropriate, affix acceptance sticker to containers
· When rejecting parts, indicate rejection on WO, put reject stick on container, and return parts to production line.
Final packaging
· Ensure packing instructions are followed
· Make sure parts are packed to prevent damage to finish and parts
Miscellaneous
· Maintain stock of testing tape, rejection sticks, acceptance stickers, etc.
· Provide a safe, clean, and organized workplace.
· Ensure all safety policies are being followed, including proper usage of PPE.
· Ensure that "To Be Inspection" area remains clean and organized.
· Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Suggest improvements for quality, safety, and efficiency.
