    Position Title: Tax Intern

    Location: Dallas, TX

    Your role

    We are looking for an intern to join the Digital Realty's Tax team in Dallas for the summer (~10 weeks). The Tax team is responsible for several different functions within DLR, including supporting the business's growth and transactions, ensuring REIT compliance, and maintaining tax compliance across global and local jurisdictions. This position will provide experience both in traditional real estate taxation, as well as the new and specific world of datacenter REIT challenges.

    What you'll do

    • Support a cross functional tax team in a variety of projects including tax planning, tax reporting, REIT compliance and tax provision
    • Research tax laws, rules/regulations and analyze their application to DLR's business
    • Assist in the review of annual tax filings prepared by the Company's tax return preparers
    • Assist in the review and preparation of tax supporting workpapers
    • Support the team through quarterly close and SEC filings
    • Supporting the team in analyze tax consequences for transactions across multiple jurisdictions
    • Preparation and understanding the various U.S. tax election forms for a REIT
    • Contribute to the successful resolution of tax matters with the applicable taxing authorities
    • Participate and contribute on global team calls understanding the dynamics and culture of a global tax team

    What you'll need

    • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or related area of study
    • Expected to be CPA-eligible upon completion of a degree in accounting
    • Experience working with Microsoft Office (especially Word , Outlook, and Excel)
    • Ability to read and understand basic financial statements (trial balance, income statement, balance sheet, etc.)
    • Enthusiasm and ability to function and learn in a dynamic environment with complex challenges
    • Clear verbal communication and ability to articulate matters in concise writing
    • Proactively seek guidance, clarification and feedback
    • Demonstrate flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while exercising professional skepticism
