    JOB SUMMARY

    The Safety Coordinator assists in overseeing NKI's Safety Program, functioning as an independent and objective body that reviews and evaluates safety issues/concerns within the organization. Additionally, the Safety Coordinator assists to ensure that the casinos safety goals and objectives are adequate and on track for success.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Assists in monitoring the effectiveness of NKI's safety, compliance and related activities on a continuous basis, and takes appropriate steps to improve, as directed by the CEO.
    2. Attends scheduled department staff meetings, as deemed necessary by the CEO.
    3. Assists in researching, developing and initiating a thoughtful and impactful Safety Program for NKI's properties/locations.
    4. Helps to create, facilitate &/or coordinate updates and revisions of company Safety Handbook and Emergency Preparedness Plan, with location management.
    5. Maintain working knowledge of all relevant health and safety regulations.
    6. Research and assist in providing resources to the company regarding health and safety matters.
    7. Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
    8. Network and create relationships with local regulatory agencies and officials in the health and safety field.
    9. Assist in coordinating the scheduling of trainings, appraisals, inspections and drills to ensure they are carried out on an adequate rotation schedule, under necessary guidelines and conditions.
    10. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    1. Minimum one (1) year experience performing the same or similar job duties preferred.
    2. Knowledge of security protocols and emergency preparedness.
    3. Knowledge of safety policies and applicable OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards.
    4. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
    5. Ability to conduct training.
    6. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
    7. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
