Job summary
Operate and maintain offshore pedestal/knuckle-boom cranes on subsea vessels or platforms, executing lifts for materialsequipment and personnel—
including subsea operations—with strict adherence to safety
and regulatory standards.
- Perform crane operations safely and efficiently
- Cover pre-operation inspections on crane components such as wire ropes sheaves hooks hydraulics and safety devices log checks daily.
- Plan execute lifts interpret load charts maintain exclusion zones coordinate deck–vessel transfers under dynamic sea conditions lead pre-lift briefings confirm rigging setup communication channels permit-to-work coordination manage subsea lifts with active heave compensation specialized method statements for personnel baskets long/oversized loads or hazardous materials monitor vessel deck conditions with Bridge/DP team select optimal weather windows timing safe operations supervise riggers employ proper signaling tag-line control prevent side-loading shock-loading initiate emergency procedures stop-work safe crane state securing emergency lowering power-loss recovery perform first-line maintenance lubricate inspect hydraulic levels/filters wire rope checks minor repairs keep accurate records lift plans checklists deviation reports logbooks documentation all crane operations participate in safety meetings emergency drills ongoing training
