    The Maintenance Shift Lead must ensure that mechanics, equipment, and materials are utilized effectively to maximize productivity of the maintenance crew. The shift lead will respond to and assess operations calls and dispatch mechanics appropriately based on the current plant priority. They must escalate major issues based on an escalation process to the supervisor for direction and support. In addition, they will take direction from the shift supervisor and ensure that all required mechanic daily work is completed correctly and on time.

    Essential Job Functions:
    1. Respond to operations floor calls
    2. Continuously assess plant operational needs
    3. Continuously re-prioritize mechanics in response to plant needs
    4. Assist mechanics in troubleshooting machine problems
    5. Provide detailed technical guidance to mechanics on machines and plant systems
    6. Coach and train mechanics on proper working procedures
    7. Coordinate with plant operations team to schedule breaks if needed
    8. Follow escalation process and notify supervisors according to that policy
    9. Ensure mechanics are stationed in appropriate area
    10. Ensure mechanic daily preventative work is executed
    11. Ensure work orders are created for all floor calls and parts are signed out
    12. Correctly document any needed follow-up work
    13. Lead shift handoff meetings to ensure incoming shift has all information
    14. Assist with SQF, 5S and safety audits (emergency evacuation, PIE and training)
    15. Work with vendor on new equipment to train others
    16. Departments skills matrixes administrator

    Qualifications:

    • Troubleshooting skills

    • Equipment repair and maintenance experience

    • Training experience

    • Minimum education required: High School Diploma or GED

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal

    • Computer proficiency is required in Outlook, Microsoft office and Workday.

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Ability to interpret and adjust to situations that involve conflicting goals and priorities

    • Highly self-motivated, ability to multi-task and set priorities

    • Proficient problem solving, analytical skills and attention to details

    • Leadership skills, ability to lead a diverse work group, focused on results, employee engagement, decision making and teamwork

    Working Conditions

    • Requires a mix of office environment and manufacturing plant floor environment. Wearing safety equipment associated with the plant floor is required.
    Rate of Pay: $36.00 per Hour/3 Days per Week

    Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
