    The Inpatient ARNP performs psychiatric evaluations, formulates diagnosis, evaluates the need for medications, laboratory studies, and imaging, and prescribes accordingly and as licensed by law. The ARNP participates in the development of treatment plans, including reviewing cases with the treatment teams ensuring patient care is delivered in an evidence-based, trauma informed manner. Case consultation with other FBH staff, residential providers and families is provided upon request. The ARNP may, on occasion, be asked to help provide coverage for another inpatient unit or in the outpatient setting.

    The Inpatient ARNP is encouraged to participate in the Provider On-Call rotation. Call is a 24/7 responsibility lasting for one week, beginning and ending on Monday at 8:00am. Frequency of call depends on how many providers are in the on-call pool, but historically, call is scheduled 4-5 times per year. The majority of the work occurs from 5pm - 8am the following day; however, the occasional call during 8am-5pm is possible. It is expected that the on-call provider will be available by phone during this entire period of call.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:
    • Provide assessment and diagnose for assigned clients and as needed crisis medical evaluation for non-assigned clients.
    • Provide patient education pertaining to diagnosis and medication treatment regime.
    • Select, prescribe, and monitor psychotropic medications.
    • Consult with the Inpatient Medical Director regularly and on clinically complicated cases.
    • Keep supervisor informed of daily activities and any potential problems in a timely manner.
    • Utilize concurrent documentation in FBH's electronic medical record whenever feasible to enhance patient participation and provider productivity.
    • Ensure documentation in the client record is accurate, clear and timely.
    • Maintain high quality clinical care through participation in utilization review and peer review as designated.
    • Coordinate with primary health care provider, and facilitate referrals to primary health care physicians, as appropriate.
    • Participate in professional offerings and continuing education in neuropharmacology to maintain license and remain current in the field.
    • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all FBH staff.

    QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

    REQUIRED:
    • Washington State ARNP License with prescriptive authority.
    • Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (ANCC)
    • DEA license
    • Must be qualified to be credentialed with insurance companies.
    PREFERRED:
    • Experience in community based behavioral healthcare.
    • Experience in an inpatient setting.
    Pay for this position will vary depending on type of work and/or the length of shift as indicated below:
    • Evaluation & Treatment (Psych): $941.00 per day
    • If less than 5 hours are worked: $117 per hour.
    • This is not a benefit eligible position.
