    Job Summary

    Monitor multi-campus networking components. Assists in the management of the network infrastructure on all campuses by working with a team of network and system engineers to ensure maximum up-time. Provides physical support of networking assets to include switches, wireless access points, and distribution closets. May provide minor construction support for new data jacks and cable runs. Assists in the evaluation of new technologies to allow ITS to meet University strategic goals. Installation and maintenance of Life Safety equipment including but not limited to callboxes, panic buttons, and IP cameras.

    Responsibilities
    • Support logical and physical networking infrastructure, including wireless infrastructure within a TCP/IP environment.
    • Supports the ITS department by creating, developing, and maintaining best practices for University security policies and networking architecture, including installation, upgrade, security, and backup of all ITS administered network and telecommunications equipment.
    • Maintains copper and fiber-optic cabling infrastructure for the campus.
    • Assists in the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of infrastructure as required.
    • Maintain documentation for all network and telecommunications systems and processes.
    • Collaborate with vendors to complete project-related tasks.
    • Assists in the implementation of network, firewall rules, and access lists.
    • Assists in the maintenance of university enterprise network and telecommunications infrastructure, including the installation and configuration of switches, routers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
    • Installs and supports Life Safety Technologies.
    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements
    • High School or equivalent
    Preferred Qualifications

    Preferred Experience
    • One (1) or more years of related work experience
    • Experience in an Enterprise or higher education network environment
    • Knowledge of Juniper network equipment and management tools
    • Experience with network security utilities for management and implementation
    Proposed Salary

    $36,500 - $45,700

    This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
