    Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

    A permanent position is available for a Quality Assurance Manager in Ayer, MA.

    The successful candidate will oversee the daily function of the Quality Assurance Department on three shifts, ensuring compliance with quality specifications and standards. Key responsibilities include:

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Directly manage up to 10 non-exempt employees in the Quality department, overseeing their work, performance, and development.
    • Create and implement Quality programs, SOPs, and guidelines for the plant, driving continuous improvement and excellence.
    • Direct the testing of products for various qualities, including microbiological, physical, and chemical characteristics.
    • Review and audit sanitation and operational practices and procedures to ensure adherence to established standards.
    • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards, providing recommendations for improvement.
    • Develop and update procedures and manuals for the Quality Assurance Department, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
    • Handle co-packer quality-related issues, working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.
    • Assist with capability studies on machines or processes, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Oversee responses to customer complaints, ensuring prompt resolution and exceptional customer service.
    • Manage computer activities, including file maintenance, reports, and system requirements.
    • Maintain a superior level of GMPs and sanitation, preparing the plant for regulatory and customer inspections at any time.
    • Ensure compliance and certification to the SQF GFSI food safety standard, adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
    • Review organic and Kosher guidelines and certification process, driving alignment with industry standards.
    • Develop and oversee experiments and plant tests, fostering innovation and improvement.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Participate in and support operations HACCP & GMP Programs, contributing to a culture of excellence and safety.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor of Science in Food Science or related field required.
    • Minimum seven years of experience in QA, with a strong background in food manufacturing.
    • Minimum five years of supervisory experience, with a proven track record of leadership and management.
    • Strong computer proficiency, with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and ERP systems.
    • Ability to apply mathematical operations, identify priorities, and work with urgency.
