    Job Title:

    Certified Nursing Assistant

    Job Summary:

    Provides routine daily nursing care and services to residents in accordance with their assessment and care plan, as directed by supervisors.

    Responsibilities:

    • Administers treatments, serves meals, and records entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, and other documents.
    • Reports changes in residents' conditions to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse promptly.
    • Ensures resident rooms are ready for receiving residents, including making beds, placing name tags, and providing admission kits.
    • Introduces residents to roommates, other residents, and personnel as necessary.
    • Performs tasks according to established policies and procedures, follows work assignments and schedules, and cooperates with inter-departmental personnel.
    • Creates a positive atmosphere and maintains a calm environment throughout the unit and shift.
    • Assists with applying nonsterile warm/cold compresses, prepares residents for physical examinations, weighs and measures residents, and records temperatures, pulse, and respirations.
    • Answers resident calls promptly and ensures frequent checks on residents unable to call for help.

    Requirements:

    • High School Education/GED or equivalent (preferred)
    • Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience (preferred)
    • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification (preferred)

    Organizational Requirements:

    Adventist Health requires all associates to receive required vaccinations, including measles, mumps, flu, COVID-19 vaccine, etc., as a condition of employment, and annually thereafter. Medical and religious exemptions may apply.
