- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records of medical supplies and equipment.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure stock levels are sufficient to meet the needs of the healthcare facility.
- Monitor expiration dates and manage the rotation of stock to minimize waste.
- Procurement:
- Assist in the procurement process by sourcing medical supplies and equipment from approved vendors.
- Prepare and submit purchase orders based on inventory needs and usage trends.
- Ensure that all procured items meet the required quality and safety standards.
- Storage and Distribution:
- Organize and maintain storage areas to ensure efficient access and retrieval of medical supplies.
- Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming medical supplies and equipment.
- Distribute medical supplies and equipment to various departments within the healthcare facility in a timely manner.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including those set by the FDA, OSHA, and The Joint Commission.
- Document all logistics activities, including receipts, issues, transfers, and returns of medical supplies and equipment.
- Generate and analyze reports on inventory levels, usage patterns, and procurement activities.
- Support and Training:
- Provide support to clinical staff regarding the availability and proper use of medical supplies and equipment.
- Assist in training staff on inventory management practices and the proper handling of medical supplies.
- Collaborate with other departments to address any issues or concerns related to medical logistics.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Coordinate with the Biomedical Equipment Technician team to ensure that medical equipment is properly maintained and available for use.
- Monitor the status of medical equipment and arrange for repairs or replacements as needed.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or inventory control, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Certification: Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional, Certified Logistics Technician) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
- Knowledge of medical supplies and equipment.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
