    Data Engineer

    Pay: $40.00-$60.00/hour

    Shift: M-F / 8am-5pm

    Location: San Diego, CA

    Experience Requirements- Data Engineer

    • BS in Data Engineering, Data Science, Computer science, or related field. MS preferred.
    • Minimum 4-8 years of experience performing dedicated data engineering work in a regulated industry (e.g. Medical Devices, Automotive, Aerospace, Pharma).
    • 3+ years of programming experience. 1+ years experience ElasticSearch, 3+ years experience SQL programming / Visualization / data analytics Skills and Knowledge
    • Good coding experience in Java and Python
    • Strong experience in data analytics
    • Fluent in common data science tools in Python/R (preferred).
    • Knowledge of database principles, such as relational and non-relational databases, data architecture. Experience in SQL, MongoDB preferred.
    • Experience with cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS and GCP.
    • Experience with architecting ETL applications.
    • Experience working with ELK stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, and Kibana) preferred
    • Experience creating dashboards
    • Demonstrates ability to collaborate effectively and work in a matrix organization.
    • Service orientation towards internal customers
    • High degree of self-motivation and commitment
    • Strong communication skills, written and verbal

    Job Description: Data Engineer

    • Supports development, optimization, automation, and management of data pipelines.
    • Use proven techniques to automate common data collection, preparation, integration, processing, and distribution tasks.
    • Train the Biostats team in data pipeline and preparation techniques to streamline daily use of the data.
    • Assist in producing datasets and simple analytic tools to be used by technical or non-technical end users.
    • Collaborate with Information Systems team to best support the data science and analytics needs of the Biostats team.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Data Engineer

    • Build, optimize, automate, and manage data pipelines.
    • Be responsible for analytical and clinical study data collection from various data streams
    • Work with Biostats team to develop tooling, processing pipelines, and monitoring dashboards
    • Executes all tasks in accordance with company Quality System and carries out duties in compliance with established business policies.
