Position Overview

An Aquatics Director and Aquatics Staff is responsible for overseeing all aquatic operations at camp including the pool and waterfront.
Today's summer camp staff are a diverse group of men and women sharing a dynamic career offering independence, achievement, and stability.

This is a seasonal position (mid-June to End of July ).Responsibilities
Open and close the pool each day according to scheduled hours
Help treat the pool with the correct amount of chemicals when needed.
Monitoring weather reports and directing swimmers out of the water in dangerous conditions.
Complete periodic reports, accounting for assigned personnel and equipment.
Submit accurate advancement reports to the Program Director at the end of each session.
Monitor the working and living conditions of assigned staff.
Communicate with unit leaders, Scouts, visitors, and staff.
Train, supervise, evaluate, and counsel assigned staff in the execution of their duties.
Assist in camp staff training and staff orientation.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene.
Attend all meals and camp-wide activities unless excused by the Program Director.
Obey and enforce all applicable policies, practices, and procedures approved by the New Birth of Freedom Council and the Boy Scouts of America.
Know, understand, and implement emergency action plans, when needed.Relay any issues that could impact the safe and successful operation of the camp to the Camp Director immediately.
Exemplify all aspects of the Scout Oath and Law and serve as a role model for staff and Scouts.
Complete all other duties as assigned by the Camp Director.
Desired Skills
High moral character.
Working knowledge of Scouts' BSA programs.
Auditory and oral abilities to effectively communicate.
Physical ability to engage in and instruct all available water sports and activities.
Requirements
Must be willing to accept and meet the Boy Scouts of America's leadership and membership standards and subscribe to the Scout Oath and Law.
Certified Lifeguards and Aquatics Director21 years of age or older.
National Camping School:
Aquatics Director certification (training provided by employer)
Offers for employment are subject to criminal, reference, and motor vehicle background checks.
Auditory and oral abilities to effectively communicate.
Meet the membership requirements of the BSA
The ability of sight, Medical approval by a physician to work.
Physical ability to walk and lift 40 Lbs.
Physical ability to participate in and instruct outdoor skills.

Compensation
The New Birth of Freedom Council, Boy Scouts of America offers a competitive Directors salary starting at $600/week, onsite housing, and meals.
