    Quality Engineer


    Your Contribution:
    Provides the QA engineering resources to maintain and improve both the process and product quality for customers and suppliers

    Reviews customer requests for quotation for requirements, standards, special inspection gauging requirements, and completeness of specifications.

    Works with Sales & Marketing and customers to resolve

    unclear/conflicting

    specifications.

    Correlates in-house and customers' measurements.

    Audits processes and product.

    Communicates with customers on quality matters and interfaces with customers during audits and visits.

    Determines process and machine capabilities for use in quoting customer orders and identifying areas for improvement.

    Determines accuracy and applicability of measurements.

    Obtains/develops equipment and methods for measurements.

    Supports the Mexico plant on all quality issues, including returns.

    Studies processes and installs appropriate data collection techniques for process/product control.

    Supports incoming inspection and communicates with suppliers regarding SCARS and other issues.


    Your Qualifications:
    BS in Engineering, or similar technical discipline.

    Two (2) years related experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the field of optics.

    Working knowledge of print and specification interpretation, as well as geometric dimensioning & tolerancing

    Hands on experience measuring with hand measurement tools, automated inspection equipment, and gage calibration.

    Working knowledge of SPC, Design of Experiments, Gage Design, and Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility Studies.

    Experience in product and process audits.

    Experience in following / maintaining an ISO 9001, 13485, AS9100 Quality Management System.

    Strong analytical ability and a disciplined problem-solving approach.

    Computer proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office software.

    Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, US Person status may be required.
