    Chemical Engineer - Water Treatment
    Description

    A candidate for the water treatment department should have a solid educational background, unwavering attention to detail, and the prowess to analyze and troubleshoot any challenges that may surface during the water treatment process.

    Work is performed under supervision from the water department supervisor; however, the candidate should be capable of working over periods with no direct supervision.

    Examples of Duties
    Excellent technical, analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication, planning, and problem- solving/troubleshooting

    skills.

    Develop or assist with developing process control systems, controls logic, field planning, and communications for new process automation projects and upgrades.

    Provide instrumentation and process control strategy and practical solutions for new process engineering projects and process upgrades.

    Analyze data and trends to identify issues or potential improvements in the water treatment process and implement necessary corrective actions.

    Ability to develop relationships with vendors, suppliers, customers, and other external contacts.


    Preparation of various engineering deliverables such as Process Flow Diagrams, P&IDs, Process Datasheets, Equipment Specifications, Cause & Effect Diagrams, control philosophies, shutdown philosophies, HAZOP Studies and reports, Operation Maintenance manuals, and providing necessary engineering inputs to the other disciplines and other department.

    Go out in the field and witness firsthand the systems and machinery set in place to treat water.
    Meet with clients alongside the supervisor and help support business development activities.

    Requirements:
    Bachelor's Degree

    Education:
    Degree major must be in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or another similar discipline.

    Work Experience:
    Not required, training will be learned on the job.

    Valid driver's license
    TWIC card (Can be acquired after starting)
    Passport (Can be acquired after starting)


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Communication, time management, persistence.
    Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.,)
    Ability to pass a medical for onsite working.

    Supplemental Information

    Work Environment:


    75% of the employee's time will be spent in a traditional office setting with access to coffee, refreshments, and monthly office events.

    25% of the employee's time will be spent out in the field where he/she may be occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme noise, odors, heights, dust, and hazardous material.

    The employee may be required to operate plant machinery to gain a greater insight to the inner workings of the department and water treatment (training and personal protective equipment will be provided).


    Essential Physical Activities:
    Walking, lifting, hearing, seeing up close, pushing, talking, standing, finger movement, depth perception.

    Typical weight handled:
    up to 50 lbs.
