- High school diploma or GED plus 6 months of direct patient care experience or 1 year of post-secondary education.
- Must currently be enrolled in an accredited educational program leading to a Certification by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) or equivalent.
- Typing and computer keyboard skills are essential.
- Previous experience in customer service or healthcare environments is beneficial.
- A high degree of clerical accuracy; excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
- Excellent customer service skills are required.
- BLS must be completed prior to the end of the orientation period.
- In no less than 24 months duration: Must successfully complete an accredited educational program with an emphasis in polysomnography; or successful completion of a polysomnography program associated with a state-licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility; or equivalent experience and documented proficiency at all competencies required of a Polysomnographic Technician and Certification by the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) as a Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) or equivalent.
- The Sleep Technician performs and evaluates overnight polysomnograms under the medical director.
