    Job Location: 610 Purdue Mall, West Lafayette, Indiana 47907
    Job Max Pay Rate: $21.00/Hr on W2
    Job Duration: 6 months of contract possibilities for an extension.

    Client Notes:

    • 6-month position with potential to continue.
    • This will be a hybrid work schedule.
    • The position is open to anywhere from 32-40 hours per week, although they would prefer to have 40 hours per week with flexibility.
    • The core hours that need to be covered are 9-3 and the candidate can determine if they want to work the remaining hours in the day either before 9 or after 3.
    • Position hours would be great for a candidate with children in school.
    • About once a month there may be an evening event that will need to be covered and candidate can flex hours that day to accommodate the event.
    • Parking will be the candidate's responsibility.
    • The candidates may wish to know ballpark estimates for parking.
    • It is possible to purchase a monthly pass for about $30/month or a daily pass for $5/day.
    • They would be on campus about one day per week.
    • For the right candidate, based on performance, they may be allowed to apply for the permeant position.

    Job Summary:

    • Provide high-level administrative support for an consortium of 20+ universities.
    • Independently perform non-routine administrative functions exercising discretion, such as coordinate events, conduct searches for information, prepare reports or handle special projects.
    • Draft and edit correspondence, promotional materials or presentations.
    • Handle non-routine inquiries and issues from internal and external sources.

    Responsibilities & Duties:

    • Perform non-routine administrative functions; conduct research, prepare reports and presentations, respond to information requests, and manage correspondence.
    • Coordinate events, including room reservations, setups, resource needs, agenda preparation, and catering.
    • Maintain calendars, schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and collect and provide support materials.
    • Arrange travel, order supplies and services, and ensure proper functioning of office equipment.
    • Update and maintain mailing lists, databases, social media content, and websites.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain/improve processes related to administrative support operations (e.g., records maintenance, data collection and maintenance, etc.).

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Education & Experience:
    • Requires a high school diploma/GED. Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative support role.

    Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail.
    • Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
    • Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs.
    • Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes.
    • Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions.
    • Drafting, proofreading and editing skills.
