    Job Details

    We are seeking a full-time

    Applications Engineer

    for the Americas Wastewater business unit located in Hillsboro, Oregon. The position is responsible for engineering services for proposals, price quotations, formal bids, and technical specification of Hydro's products.

    Competence & Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, chemical, environmental engineering or equivalent work experience.
    Practical working knowledge of engineering principals and the needs of the water industry and its customers.
    General MS Office Programs knowledge.
    Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Inventor or equivalent related software or similar 3-D packages.
    Knowledge of CRM and ERP database software preferred.

    Skills & Attributes:


    Proven ability to interact with customers through excellent communication skills, to collaborate with people from all backgrounds and be a team player is required.

    The ability to remain calm and responsive in a fast-paced environment with short timelines and frequently changing priorities.
    Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and excellent grammar and technical writing skills.

    Key Duties:

    Handling product inquiries from clients, direct sales staff, and independent sales representatives.
    Selecting, sizing, and designing equipment and equipment systems to meet client's needs.
    Preparing proposals, price quotations and technical specifications for Hydro's CSO and Wastewater products.

    Review contract documents and prepare Scopes of Supply and bid pricing for general contractors, municipalities, direct sales staff, and independent sales representatives.

    Facilitate project handover between departments.
    Preparation of AutoCAD/Inventor drawings to include
    :

    2D and 3D General arrangement drawings for proposals.
    2D and 3D detailed arrangement/layout drawings for final proposals and specifications.
    Review internally generated drawings

    Provide engineering services for detailed design and specification/drawing review. Work closely with specifying engineers, installation contractors and customers to ensure their needs are clearly identified and satisfied.
    Work with equipment fabricators and vendors to update system costs.
    Attend training sessions, seminars, exhibitions, and conferences as required by the Company.
    Assist with general office duties as and when required.
    To apply

    the requirements of the BS EN ISO as appropriate within your area of responsibility.
    To be responsible for the Health and Safety and Environmental aspects affecting self, employees, and projects in your control.

    Physical & Other Requirements:

    Occasional travel (5-10%). International travel possible.

    Passport
    US citizenship or ability to work in the US.
